Hello everybody, so this is the 75,000th post!
How is it going over here at the Fix? Kinda like always. Well, I have to say that engagement is going down slowly but surely. Maybe this format is just moving closer to the end of its usefulness, but no worries, right now it still makes sense for me to put in the effort. Although I have to say that I grew a bit less interested in the hobby lately, and it feels like I just have seen it all (especially when it comes to Kickstarter campaigns for 3D-printable stuff). Can't really remember the last time something completely "wow'ed" me.
It likely doesn't help that I almost exclusively play and paint Battletech these days, and that my day job (which has nothing to do with the hobby) gets more demanding. I also caught the dreaded C-virus last year and still feel like I am not exactly back where I was physically and mentally.
But no worries, I won't shut this down anytime soon, and I am very thankful for all of you who visit the blog, often every single day. 100K posts is definitely a goal I want to reach, and unless engagement drops under 1000 visits per day, I think it is worth to keep going.
Thanks for all you do! This site is where I come to get my daily dose of gaming/hobby news.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the hard work! I always enjoy reading trhe daily TT news!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this site. I do hope you keep this site going though. It's highly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI visit it several times a day actually. I am sorry to hear about your illness. Hope you recover fully. I can understand about Battletech. BT fever has hit my gaming groups too.
Perhaps if you were somehow compensated for your efforts? Have you heard of BAT? Basic Attention Token. It's a crypto token for visitors to automatically reward sites. Used mainly by the Brave web browser. Worth looking into perhaps. Take care!
Best hobby newsfeed on all the Internet. Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteAnother daily user here. Thank you for your work! Best hobby news site.
ReplyDeleteI check this site every day. Like you, there's not much that springs out at me these days, but occasionally something will... and having an "all in one place" resource like this is unebelievably helpful. Thanks for all that you do!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a regular visitor, more for the actual physical miniatures announcements rather than the 3D printing stuff. I really hope you'll be able to keep this place going, but knowing full well that this is a labour of love rather than a paying gig, know that real life always comes first so understand if/when you decide to hang up your spurs!
ReplyDeleteI have checked this site almost every day for more than 10 years and while I feel you (been there, done that), it is still worth the visit a) to keep an eye on what is going on in the scene, and b) for the occasional news that can still surprise. Thank you very much for your continued efforts, you would be sorely missed if you stopped now! Maybe you could add a "buy me a coffee" link? Like that we could give something back.
ReplyDeleteThanks - I have looked at a couple of options, but most are either too much effort or not that if you are not in the US. Just buy me a beer if we ever meet :)
DeleteCongrats on 75k, like others have said I visit your blog everyday, as you have the best and most miniature wargaming news.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your hard work, I visit every work day.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever venture back to Australia, call and see us again and we will have something to revitalise you!
Cheers, Nic, that would be great!
DeleteThis is my daily source for everything mini related! Thank you for this labor of love!
ReplyDeleteHey Falk, thanks for over 10 years of giving me hobby news and supporting my projects.
ReplyDeleteThat was from Andrew May by the way, can’t sign in!
DeleteThanks mate!
