Maybe they will release an awesome line of terrain.. maybe not.. all I know is they lost all credit with me when they horribly recast the topper for the tomb that came with Heroquest. Not only is that a recast but it's a bad one.
I would like to point out that the "accused" piece, is in these WIP pics only as a demonstrational element for the lovers of Heroquest. Unfortunately i don't own the original parts (extremely rare), but i liked the idea of showing that it could have been used together with my DungeoNext in order to further embellish the playing ground and the settings.
I would to like to highlight that that given element will never be set for sales in any of my sets, and all of my sets are entirely made of original parts.
You've probably got this by now, but in the future it would be a good idea to include a disclaimer to that effect when publishing photos with pieces that you did not create.
In my view, it isn't a huge deal, and I doubt that Hasbro would care, but one could technically argue that without a disclaimer you are attempting to draw parity from a competitor's brand, or something to that effect. Not that the piece is like a trademark or anything, but better safe than sorry.
Thanks for the advice, I think I'll do the WIP specific where you will better understand the modularity with other manufacturers and where I will show you how to convert my own pieces.
Thanks all for pointing that out and thanks to Massimiliano for explaining it.
I am thinking about getting these as supplements for the Arena Rex table I am planning at the moment.Should be great for setting up a couple of small rooms within the Arena.

ReplyDeleteI just noticed the same thing. That's a pretty shameless example of recasting a very familiar piece.
