One of the distinctive features of Dust Warfare is the Command phase. During this phase, each general has the opportunity to issue a limited amount of advance orders, making units move or attack preemptively. With these commands, eliminate enemies before they become a threat or take control of vital battlefield objectives. Invest your orders wisely, because units that activate in the Command phase receive one less action in the Unit phase, so plan your strategy accordingly. We’ll cover this intriguing phase of the game in more detail in coming previews.
In the Unit phase of Dust Warfare, you can counter your enemy’s actions through the innovative reaction system. Under certain circumstances, you can issue orders for a unit to fall back as powerful enemies try to overwhelm them, or order them to stand and deliver a wall of defensive fire. You can even order your soldiers to “Hit the Dirt!” and use whatever cover is available to hold your position. This interactive system lets you interrupt your opponent’s actions, giving you a chance to change the game at a moment’s notice.
