Rumours say that Games Workshop stopped the production of metal miniatures for unknown reasons and for an unknown timeframe. The original rumor seems to come from a well-known german retailer.
One possible explanation is a shift from metal to resin.

Seems unlikely considering how often people have had to return Forge World products due to poor quality casting.
ReplyDeleteIf it would be the same kind of resin, I agree. At least you could see the model in the blister before you buy it ;)
ReplyDeleteI take everything on April 1st with a grain of salt, but if this is the case I don't see much difference for the end-user, except for a potential heavy-handed price jump "To compensate for the higher production costs, in producing a better quality product to you, the consumer" or somesuch other GW advertisement. If they were to do this, I imagine that they would approach it from a different technique then Forgeworld, simply from the much higher rate of production they would want.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell the rumour is around for quite a while. Might still be an elaborated joke, we will see.
