In Addition, they made the following announcement in their forum:
Book 1: Four Nations + Core Rules
Core rules and a guide to these nations with a lot of detail on their models. We wanted to give folk the chance to get a view of the forces. I won't use the world complete, because we'll come up with more ideas and an army will grow, but we're talking 15 to 20 models per faction in the book. To give you an idea the Britannia Army List has 21 models in it, so if a player selects this nation they'll have plenty of choices to make when it comes to putting their forces together.
When we launch in November we'll have nearly all of these models designed and manufactured. Our original plan for release was 60 models ready at launch, 15 per nation, but we added 5 more to each one, and those are the models the Dystopian guys are working on now. What this allows us to do is structure a release schedule ahead of design and manufacture. What we want to do is ensure that we are on top of the four nations before we even think about the next set of nations for the game. The game will grow and we'll have a schedule of releases that should [one of those dangerous comments coming up!] keep players of Dystopian Wars satisfied.
PLEASE NOTE: The models will not be rolled out in one go! They'll be rolled out in chunks.
The Dystopian Wars focus is on establishing the first four nations: Kingdom of Britannia, Prussian Empire, Empire of the Blazing Sun and Federated States of America (FSA). We want to ensure our offering for these four has width and depth to it. This shouldn't be a problem though, as the model guys are coming up with more and ideas for these four nations each week. If they have their way you'll get 100 models per nation!
Beyond the first four nations
Yes, we already have plans for more nations, we already have designs and we already have some of the models. We will be detailing their part in the storyline, but not releasing them for a while yet. After Christmas we'll give you a schedule that will include these new races, giving you an idea of when in 2012 they'll be introduced to the plot.
