Historia Rodentia
For 2012 we’ve got several things planned and put into motion. First up is “Historia Rodentia”, the supplement for Mongoose Publishing’s RPG “LEGEND”. Legend is a d100 system based on the classic “RuneQuest” system, and Historia Rodentia is the first supplement to cover roleplaying in the world of Brushfire. Players will be able to create characters from the nations of Aquitar, Civitas, Scyzantium, and Vanadalands. Future books are planned to cover the rest of the world. Historia Rodentia will be released in May by Mongoose Publishing in both softcover and PDF.
Mysterious Project: EFT
2012 will also feature our first non-Brushfire related release since Legendary Realms in ‘08. While we’re keeping the project under wraps for now, you can expect to see previews and a ton of information after GAMA Trade Show in March.
New Game: WARCLAW
Our last currently planned release for 2012, and the biggest release of the year for us, is our other joint project with Mongoose Publishing: “WARCLAW.” A new take on the Brushfire setting and moving from smaller skrimish matches to large all-out-warfare; Warclaw is a new miniatures game using a revised version of Mongoose’s “Starship Troopers” and “Battlefield Evolution” game system. Much like how their release of “A Call to Arms: Star Fleet” resculpted the Star Fleet line of miniatures, you can expect the same for a number of Brushfire releases. You’ll be able to use models from either line in both systems, but Mongoose’s resources will allow us to produce higher quality models and alot of stuff we wouldn’t be able to otherwise release for sometime. The Initial factions being covered by Warclaw will be Aquitar, Axony, Civitas, The Federated States of Vespuccia, Scyzantium, and Vandalands. Each with a number of new units and classic Brushfire units. An exact date is not set for Warclaw, but playtesting is underway and its looking like an end of year or early 2013 release.
Brushfire
So where does this leave our flagship, Brushfire? In a good place in our opinion. We’ll be continuing to support Brushfire with new releases, and with Mongoose’s Warclaw line you can expect to have a lot of options for your armies. While Ribenguo, Chugoku, and Zabar are not currently part of Warclaw, that just means we’ll be focusing on giving them new releases while Mongoose handles the rest of the factions. We’re also planning on doing a major update to the stat cards later this year, switching to a double sided playing card size card that is a little cheaper to produce and easier to manage. With the release of Warclaw, we’ll also introduce a few new playable factions to Brushfire.
