Fantasy Flight Games announced more details about the upcoming releases for the Warhammer Fantasy RPG and for Dark Heresy:

The first thing to be aware of when dealing with severe injuries is that they are critical wounds. They are shuffled into the wound deck just like all the others, and every time you receive a critical wound it just might be a severe injury

Dark Heresy is a game of investigation, and while there is plenty of action, the core experience is one of mystery and conspiracy.  Church of the Damned sees the Acolytes embracing that role and leading an investigation into the heart of one of the Imperium's most powerful organizations. Witnesses must be questioned, informations researched and crime scenes examined.
